The FUT Champions Weekend League can be a grind, but the rewards on offer can make all that frustration and concentration worthwhile. Below we have detailed exactly what you will receive for achieving each rank within this highly competitive game mode.
Not only can users earn in-game FUT item rewards, there's also the chance to compete on the world stage via the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series on The Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019. There's no doubt about it, the winner of this tournament will become the undisputed FIFA 19 world champion! Users will need to register here.
The EA SPORTS FIFA team have officially confirmed that FIFA 19 FUT Champs rewards will now be released at 9am (UK time/UTC) on Thursdays, for Xbox One, PS4 and PC users. Only accounts that have completed a minimum of 5 matches will be eligible to receive FUT Champions Weekend League rewards.
In FIFA 19, users who achieve the rank of Silver 1 or better will receive 2,000 FUT Champions qualification points (the minimum amount required to confirm qualification for a Weekend League). If you don't manage the achieve this rank, don't worry, you can still earn champions qualification points via FIFA 19 Division Rivals.
Before we get into the specifics of this year's Weekend League rewards, it is important to note that there will be no FIFA 19 FUT Champions monthly rewards. This will come as a relief to many, as now you will not be committed to playing four consecutive weekends in order to optimise on your rewards.
Not only this, many of you will have already noticed that FIFA 19 Weekend Leagues only consist of 30 games, rather than 40 since the introduction of the FIFA FUT Champions game mode. We're sure that this reduction of games has been another welcome addition to this year's format for the vast majority of FIFA Ultimate Team fans.

The FIFA 19 Weekend League is the most competitive football mode you'll find on any video game. Every weekend, players duke it out across 30 games in an attempt at earning the very best rewards possible. It's a dog-eat-dog world in FUT Champions, so you're going to need some FIFA 19-themed assistance. It doesn't have to be quite so intimidating though, which is why we're here to help with our FIFA 19 Weekend League tips.
In my FIFA 19 Weekend League rewards guide, I detailed my experience in the FIFA 19 Weekend League. Since then, I've qualified for another four rounds of FUT champions, earning even more attractive rewards – such as a 89-rated, red Raheem Sterling card. Below are my lessons learned along the way, and there are some FIFA 19 weekend league tips here that will help to steer noobs and experienced players alike. Just go easy if you ever come up against some guy called ‘OPM_Ben’ on PS4, yeah?
A simple one to start: be aware that the both kits worn in FIFA 19 weekend league fixtures – yes, including your opposition’s – are dictated by you. No awkward Division Rivals clashes here. As a result, be sure to select them before getting your FUT Champions campaign underway, with as much contrast between the two kits as possible. I usually go red vs white/grey (for instance Belgium home vs Germany home), or yellow against navy blue. Need more inspiration? Here’s our look at the best FIFA 19 kits.
The foundation of strong weekend league play is knowing your formation, tactics and players in as much detail as possible. Pick one using the help of GR’s FIFA 19 formations guide, then stick to it game after game. You swiftly learn where your players like to make their runs, and how best to create chances: I use a Serie A-based 4-5-1 set-up, with Edin Dzeko (87) up front and Jose Callejon (86) and Lorenzo Insigne (88) on the flanks. Most goals come from crosses, but I also know that when Dzeko drops deep those two wingers will look to bomb on behind their full-backs, at which point I look for an incisive diagonal through ball. It’s instinctive now, and should be for you after 20-25 games.
The easiest way to guarantee a losing streak in FUT Champions is by throwing the match away in your head once an opponent takes the lead. It leads to over-ambitious passing, crackerjack shots from distance, and desperation tackles in dangerous areas – with 0-1 quickly turning to 0-2 or 0-3 if you lose your head. (As is the case in any real sport.)
Unless you fall behind in the 88th minute, there’s always time to craft an equaliser – so resist the temptation to throw the game and/or your controller. Many weekend leaguers play with their defensive tactic set to High Press, meaning opposition teams regularly tire in the last 30 minutes of game time. It’s at this point that you can very swiftly turn a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 win should you play your cards right. Substitution cards, that is. Which leads us neatly onto the next point.
When you’re a goal down at half-time it’s always tempting to look for a quick fix. If you find yourself in such a scenario, again remember that ‘stay in the game’ advice: there’s no need to rush into a ‘solution’ which may end up backfiring. Instead, keep faith in the belief that your opponent will tire, and prepare to unleash your subs on 60-65 minutes.
Pace has been nerfed to a degree this year, but it’s at this stage of the game where speed really matters: I have a FIFA 19 Futmas card from the Bundesliga, Bruma, which is only 82-rated but causes havoc against tired defenders with its 95 speed. ‘Super subs’, as they’re known in the community, are a very real phenomenon, and you definitely want to be able to call upon a couple in the last 25 minutes of games.
Mastering a single tactic is important, so too keeping your nerve when going a goal down. Yet there are still occasions when it all goes a bit Huddersfield Town and you find yourself two behind after 20 minutes. Again, you need a plan for this: specifically, a change of formation and attacking ethos. It’s in these instances that an early substitution or two is justifiable.
For me, the necessary approach is switching to 4-4-2 at half-time and adopting an attacking mindset. Referring back to my Serie A squad, I remove a central midfielder (Sami Khedira) and add Luis Muriel. The Colombian striker is only 83-rated overall, but his 92 Sprint Speed provides the perfect accompaniment to Dzeko’s flick-ons and through balls. In this way I’ve gone on to lose some games 0-4, but also turned matches around which should have been long over – such as a 1-4 hammering which I clawed back to 4-4 and then won on penalties, after extra time.
An issue with all online sports games is that players hammer any slight weakness in the engine to their advantage – and one such issue in FIFA 19 is the success rate of corners delivered to the near post. Across a weekend league you are *guaranteed* to concede a handful of goals to the mammoth Virgil van Dijk (this year’s meta CB) in this way. While you can’t eliminate that eventuality, you can reduce its chances.
To do so, take control of the man nearest the corner taker (L1 on PS4), then manoeuvre him to a spot just in front of the goalpost. As it’s delivered hold down L2 to jockey any challenging opponent, then hit circle (or square, if you’re using alternate controls) to head the ball away. Even against a van Dijk or David Luiz (another meta choice) you’ll clear the ball 90% of the time.
Even more annoying than conceding near-post corners is having your opponent charge upfield and punt one home straight from the kick-off – a legacy issue with FIFA since the PS3 days. There’s again no way to completely prevent this, but my method is to control the nearest striker (Dzeko in that Serie A squad) and run him back towards my central defenders immediately after play begins. Once he’s set, I switch to a central midfielder to try to cut off passing avenues through the middle – with that striker becoming an additional shield as he returns upfield. If you can’t win the ball then concede a cheap foul. Naughty, perhaps, but you’ve a better chance of defending a free kick than an open-play shot at goal from the edge of your D.
Another simple defensive tip: don’t be afraid to hammer the ball downfield when under pressure, or taking a goal kick. Youtube videos show many elite players recycling possession across their back four, then putting together complex 25-part passing moves to score wondergoals; while it’s tempting to try to mimic these, more often than not they in fact create chances for your opponents. If you’re being swarmed in your own box, clear your lines. There’s nothing more infuriating than keeping your composure for 65 minutes then tossing a game away by passing straight to an opposition striker.
There can be no draws in weekend league. And with the FIFA 19 engine loving a spot of drama – a last minute equaliser here, a series of shots against the woodwork transforming a win into a stalemate there – a few penalty shootouts every weekend is inevitable. So you’d be a lemon to approach these without any sort of strategy.
For me, it’s keeping it straightforward: when controlling your keeper, select the same direction (low left, low right, or stay central) for all five opponent spot kicks. It’s immensely likely that they put at least one kick that way. As for taking kicks, I alternate direction but never go down the middle – precisely because your opponent’s keeper will always stay still for at least a kick or two. It’s not failsafe, but means I win four in every five shootouts. Or did, until everyone reads this… (!)
Don't forget your can also perfect your penalties from the Practice Arena in the main menu. Simply run your player into the box, then press any direction on the D-pad.
Want to show a touch of sportsmanship and move your games along faster? Then skip celebrations after scoring by hitting L1 and R1 at the same time to jump straight to your opponent’s kick-off. It mightn’t win you many games in itself, but will at least prevent you looking a fool when you dab following an unmissable tap in – only to capitulate and lose 2-1.
FIFA 19 is out now. Need to raise some finance in order to improve your weekend league squad? Then your next stop should be our FIFA 19 Ultimate Team coins guide.

The Weekend League rewards for each week on Playstation 4, XBox One and Origin PC
FUT Champions is a game mode within FIFA 19 Ultimate Team that rewards the best players with amazing prizes. This page is your only stop for FUT Champions rewards.
Weekend League rewards are delivered every Thursday, only to who has completed At least five matches in the previous weekend. The cards from the packs are Tradeable, except the ones from player pick, which means that you can sell them in the transfer market if you wish. Besides that, you don’t need to open the packs in the week they are assigned to you. They can be stored to be opened later. They don’t expire.
The Monthly Reward Packs from FUT 18 have been replaced with Weekly Reward Player Picks in FUT 19. These Player Picks will be the new method for receiving special FUT Champions themed versions of TOTW Player Items. Which items are available in the Player Picks depends on which FUT Champions Weekend League that you earn them in. As FUT Champions Weekend League rewards are released on Thursday, the Player Pick Items will contain players from the current TOTW, the one that just started the previous day on Wednesday. This will not change, no matter when you open the Player Pick, they will always contain items from the TOTW that was active when the rewards were distributed.
Depending on your final Rank in the Weekend League, the Players within the Player Pick will vary, from the maximum overall rating of the FUT Champions TOTW Player Items available in the Player Pick, to how many different FUT Champions TOTW Player Items you will get to choose from. Remember that for each Player Pick Item, you only get to choose one card from it, regardless of how many different Items you get to choose from.

If I look at Squad battles PS4 it says that at GOLD 1 there wont be a Swap player, is it true?
It was probably a mistake. Every player who qualifies on Silver 3 or higher will receive a Swap player.
Hi again Rodrigo! I have a problem, and I am not sure if I did something wrong. A few weeks ago I was able to complete the 2000 points to reach the weekend league. For some reason I have not been able to play for a few weekends so I decided to go play today, but I cannot get to the weekend league. did I do wrong exchanging my 2000 points for a pass as soon as I get them? have the access to weekend league expired? how does that work? Thanks!
Thanks Rodrigo, I see… so I lost my chance :'(
Hi guys I could really use your help I haven’t received my fut champions rewards for the past week and it has been over 1 hour from the time the rewards were supposed to be there. Does anyone know what I can do.
You get the rewards on thursday
Bro the guy champs rewards are back out next time reload the game if that happens
Hi, can somebody please let me know if I still will have my rewards after reaching silver 2 but played less than 30 games? And if yes, which weekday will I get them?
Yes you need to play a minimum of 5 games and every thursdag the rewards are there
You just need to play 5 matches to get a reward. They are delivered every Thursday.
I have earned 1000 points from Division Rivals and will get 1000 FUT Champs points on Thursday. On Thursday If I am then unable to redeem my last weekends rewards including that 1000 FUT Champs points can I redeem it later? And what about the points I have earned in Division Rivals so if I can’t redeem FUT Champs points on Thursday does those Division Rivals points delete after Thursday or can I keep them and add the FUT Champs points later to the points I have earned in Division Rivals? It would be pity if the points you have earned in Division Rivals will be deleted although you have FUT Champs points on hold and pity if you can’t delay the use of both points later if you can’t redeem FUT Champs points on Thursday. I hope you understood what I asked. English is not my native language so I tried my best to explain what I meant. Thanks for the reply.

What are player picks? New in FIFA 19, the player picks were introduced. You will get a choice of 5 cards from which you can choose one. The FUT Champions Rewards are the red TOTW cards you would otherwise receive in the monthly rewards.
What are FUT Champions points? The newly introduced FUT Champions Points will help you qualify for the Weekend League.
Monthly Rewards disappear: In FUT 19 there will be no more monthly prizes in the Weekend League. You can still get your red informs via the player picks, but they are interchangeable like last year.
When does the Weekend League start? Every Friday at 8 o'clock in the morning starts a new competition. The first Weekend League will take place from the 5th to the 8th of October. Then every week there is a new competition.
When will the Weekend League end? A FUT champion weekend takes exactly 3 days. Thus every competition ends on Monday at 8 o'clock in the morning. The last Weekend League will probably take place at the end of August 2019.
Weekend League is the mode for top players: FUT Champions - or the Weekend League - is the mode for the best FIFA gamblers. Not only are there very good rewards such as FIFA 19 Coins and packs to win, but EA's official FUT tournaments can also qualify via this mode. Normally, however, this is only possible for e-athletes.
Learn from the pros: In the Champions Channel you can watch the games of the top players retroactively. You even see their controller inputs there and can exactly understand what you have to press to play like them.
Matchmaking was myth: In the last two years, many players complained about unfair matchmaking or at least wanted transparency from EA. The game publisher made a clean sweep of FIFA 19 and revealed how the online games of the Weekend League come about.
Form should ensure fair matches. Each Weekend League starts each player with a shape of 0. For a win (W) there is +1, for a defeat (L) -1. For example, a game history of W, L, W, W, W leads to a form of 3. Not only the last five, but all the games count a weekend.
Location and Shape Decide Pairings:Players of similar form and location are assigned to each other. The purpose of this system is that only the best of the best with a rising form and thus stronger opponents are still able to win all the games and reach top seats.
FIFA 19 FUT Champions - How to qualify for the Weekend League
In the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, the FUT Champions system is changing: from now on, you must qualify for the Weekend League through the Rivals Division.
How do I qualify for the Weekend League? With each game and every win in the Division Rivals, you will not only receive skill rating points for the Rivals division, but also Weekend League points. How many you have, you can always see in the qualification progress:
What do I need for the qualification? 2000 FUT Champion points are required to earn a Weekend League Token. You can spend your points on any weekend - it does not have to be the upcoming weekend, if you do not have time.
Where can I get FIFA 19 FUT Champion points? Either about the weekly rewards of the Weekend League or Division Rivals. In addition, each Division Rivals game gives extra points.
Are there any other ways to qualify? The Division Rivals are the only way in FUT 19, through which you come in the Weekend League.
The re-qualification has also changed a bit: If you successfully participate in the Weekend League, you will also receive FUT Champions points with your weekly rewards. So you have to earn 2000 points for the re-qualifiers, which you fill not only with Division Rivals matches, but already with Weekend League matches.
There are no big changes in matchmaking or the system of the Weekend League. The only major change is the downgrade to 30 matches per weekend. You can find all information and news about FUT champions here.

Weekend League rewards are given out each week depending on where a player ranks, rewards which are easily some of the best in the game. In this FIFA 19 FUT Champs Rewards Guide, we'll give you all the info you need to know about FUT Champs, Weekend League and all of the rewards associated with them.

Once you've put some time into building your squad in FUT 19, you'll want to put it to the test. This means taking on some of the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team Competitive modes. They can be pretty challenging but don't worry; you'll usually earn rewards regardless of skill level. Your journey will start at Division Rivals and end with FUT Champions Weekend League, and we're here to guide you through it. Let's start by detailing exactly how FUT Champions Weekend League works in FIFA 19.
FUT Champions Weekend League is essentially the same as the Weekend League from last year, allowing players to buy into a weekend tournament in which they can earn extremely high rewards. The qualification system has changed, as has the maximum number of games you can play each weekend. It's basically the ultimate challenge in FUT 19, pitting you against other players in quick marquee matchups.
So now you know all about FUT Champions Weekend League in FIFA 19 and want in, well first you'll have to qualify. To buy into the Weekend League, you'll need Champions Points. These can be earned by playing Division Rivals. You can read all about Division Rivals mode in our guide, but basically it's an online competitive mode in which you play matches to end up in a certain rank. The better you play, the more Champions Points you'll earn, which you can then use to enter the Weekend League. You can buy into the Weekend League whenever you'd like, and don't necessarily need to play the weekend after you've earned enough points. You'll also earn Champions Points for playing the Weekend League itself, essentially allowing you to qualify (more on that later)..
So you've been plugging away at Division Rivals, racking up Champions Points left and right, do you have enough to enter the FUT Champions League Weekend League? Well, you'll need 2000 Champions Points to enter, which isn't a huge ask for a week's worth of play.
Each week, players are given rewards based on their performance in the Weekend League. The rewards get better and better the higher the rank that a player achieves, with some seriously awesome rewards reserved for the upper echelon. We've listed all of the FUT Champs rewards below, starting from the bottom ranks to the tippy top.

Once a week's Weekend League has ended, EA takes a little bit of time to review the results and make sure the rewards are distributed fairly. EA recently shifted gears slightly, and will be releasing the FUT Champions rewards at a new time. FIFA 19 players can now pick up their FUT Champions rewards at 8am UK/ 12am PT.
We have adjusted the time that we are aiming to distribute weekly rewards earned by playing the FUT Champions Weekend League. Earned rewards will now be targeted for release at 8 am UK/9 am Central Europe on Thursdays.
Once you start hitting the Silver ranks in Weekend League, you'll earn player picks as a reward. At certain ranks, the players you're able to receive in a Player Pick will have a maximum overall rating. We've pulled together all of the key info in the following table.
Silver 3 | 1 | 2 | 84 | Yes |
Silver 2 | 1 | 2 | 84 | Yes |
Silver 1 | 1 | 3 | No Max | Yes |
Gold 3 | 2 | 3 | No Max | Yes |
Gold 2 | 2 | 4 | No Max | Yes |
Gold 1 | 2 | 4 | No Max | Yes |
Elite 3 | 3 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Elite 2 | 3 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Elite 1 | 3 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 76 - 100 | 4 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 51 - 75 | 4 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 26 - 50 | 5 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 11 - 25 | 5 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 2 - 10 | 5 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
Top 1 | 5 | 5 | No Max | Yes |
As you can see from the rewards list above, you earn Champions Points at every rank in Weekend League. You'll need to hit at least Silver 1 rank to earn enough points to re-qualify for the next weekend League, which works out at 11 wins.
One of the big changes to Weekend League in FIFA 19 is that the maximum games you can play has been decreased. It's now at 30 games, down from 40 last year, making things a little bit more manageable if you're aiming for one of the higher ranks. You can play as many games as you'd like up to 30 games, though you'll need at least 11 wins to qualify for the following week.
Once you've bought into Weekend League, you'll be paired with a player to face off against. The matchmaking process is fairly simple, in that it uses a measurement called Form to group players of similar skill together. Form takes into account your Win/ Loss record from previous Weekend Leagues. Location is also a factor.

Take on the best FUT players in the FUT Champions Weekend League and earn great prizes! The best Weekend League players may also be invited to future EA competitive gaming events.
Division Rivals is a separate game mode, but this is where you can earn the FUT Champions Points needed to pay the entry fee for the FUT Champions Weekend League.
The FUT Champion Points you earn from playing Divisions Rivals can be used to purchase a slot in the FUT Champions Weekend League.
The number of Points you get for each Division Rivals match you play will depend on your performance (base Points value) and current Division (multiplier). Players in higher Divisions can earn Points faster is they perform well in a Division Rivals match.
Starting at players with at least 11 wins during the Weekend League, one of the rewards they will receive is 2,000 FUT Champions Points - enough to qualify for another Weekend League.
Unlike the 40 match cap for FIFA 18, FIFA 19 Weekend League matches is capped at 30, reducing the required play time players need to commit to completing the series of matches for the league.
Form is the ranking system used for Weekend Leagues. All players start at 0 Form. A win will give +1 Form while a loss will results in -1 Form. Players with similar Form will be then paired during matchmaking.
Although Form is the primary consideration for matchmaking, location will also play a factor by way of proximity to game servers to ensure quality matches for players matched against each other.
Playing all those hours during a single weekend will be worth it as big rewards are in store for winners!

Listening to the feedback of the community and influencers/GameChangers alike, EA (and FUT creative director Tyler Blair) announced that FIFA 19's Weekend League maximum match load would be dropped from 40 to 30 on PS4 and Xbox One. For PC players, the total number of matches would be raised up to 30 to match the next gen consoles.
In a post in their new "Pitch Notes" blog section of the official FIFA website, the FIFA team outlined a number of changes this year making it loud and clear EA understand that the mode originally intended primarily as a qualifying method for competitive FIFA events was actually being taken advantage of and participated in by a far broader audience than initially expected.
While some pro players responded tepidly at best to the outlined tweaks and evolution of FUT Champions, the reaction by and large was overwhelmingly positive on social medias. Amongst the changes to know about in this year's competitive mode include:
You certainly don't have to play all of them, but EA have reduced the maximum load competing an entire Friday-Sunday would necessitate from a ceiling of 40 matches down to 30. This matched direct feedback that the load required was too arduous for most players and that the system as is almost discriminated against healthy FIFA-life balance.
If you're only looking to gain automatic admission to the next Weekend League -- or a future one, as part of another new change -- you only need to worry about winning 11 matches from Friday to Sunday in the game mode.
Announced previously, the Daily Knockout Tournament is no more in "FIFA 19." Instead, merely playing the new FUT Division Rivals ladder system will be the qualification method for the Weekend League. Earn enough points in Rivals to play in the Weekend League, and you're in. And unlike previous FUTs, you don't have to use that ticket to enter until you want to. If you're going on holiday or have a personal engagement this coming weekend, simply save your qualification for the following or another weekend.
With the very nature of the Weekend League evolving, monthly rewards needed to change with it. The untradeable red in-forms will now be available in Weekly Reward Player Picks pack the week after each Weekend League. For those unacquainted, that means you'll get almost FUT Draft style packs from which you can choose one of five potential rewards to add to your permanent club.
No more sweating having to play x number of games in a month; earn rewards when you can play, and don't worry about it (as much) when you can't.
Though it's not immediately clear if this is a change to previous FUT Champions' setups or merely an explanation of how the system's always worked, the PItch Notes blog post reads "to ensure that every weekend is a clean slate for players to compete for wins and rewards. we use something called ‘form’ as a key driver of matchmaking. Everyone starts each weekend fresh at zero form, moving up or down with each win or loss." It goes on to add "in football terms, match form of W/L/W/W/W would result in a +3 form. Players with similar form are then paired in matchmaking."
Basically if you win more games, you'll play harder opposition. With the reduced game load too, cherry picking -- e. g. trying to coorindate with fellow high-level/similar-ability-possessing players to not match up against one another -- could result in a lower Skill Score which could prohibit you from potentially reaching the rankings you desire.
But speaking of the changes from a competitive gaming standpoint, it remains to be seen what a shorter Weekend League means for the FUT Champions LAN events. While previously monthly qualifiers reaching a certain ranking would earn invitations to "majors" that took place all around the globe, it's not known yet whether or not the competitive gaming team for EA will continue to use this model.
"We’ll detail what these changes mean for Competitive FIFA in FUT 19 in the coming weeks," is all the aforementioned blog post outlines with respect to the changes. It's possible EA ultimately move away from using Weekend League qualification as a means to make major tournaments, or maybe alter things to where it's a secondary qualification avenue but not the primary one for them.
Last but not least, in a subtle but perhaps overlooked tweak to "FIFA 18"'s addition, the "FUT Champions Channel", players will now be able to see the exact controller positioning and button pushes used as the top players around the world pull off some unbelievable FIFA gameplay in 19. If you're an aspiring competitive player or merely someone who just wants to up their FIFA game, this could be a great tool to do just that.
That's an awful lot to digest, but what are your thoughts on the announced changes to the Weekend League in FIFA 19?

FIFA 19 Weekend League.
How it can be?
Team of the week (TOTW).
Shit-talking welcome!
