Does real life Vinicius Jr. deserve a 77 rating? No, probably not, he deserves a high silver perhaps. But that's not the point. He's a 77 rare gold. The EA gods have blessed us with this one. His pace is phenomenal. Having 5 star skills is not only really useful, but also extremely fun. 4 star weak foot means that he can Occasionally drop a half decent cross into the box. At the moment he's 1.2k, I truly believe that this is one of the best value deals in La Liga this year, early on in the game. He's by far my favorite player. Not my best player. my favorite. I slapped a sniper chem card on him and his dribbling is silky smooth, and with 88 finishing, I've scored a few nice goals with him as well. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend picking him up.

18 year old Brazilian Vinicius Junior has been named as a Future Star in the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team line up. The Real Madrid attacking player has been gaining some rave reviews on the field at the Bernabeu so far this season, so it is no surprise to see Fifa pick him up as one of the stars of the future. Whether you are a fan of the game and you are working your way through career mode, or you are a fan of La Liga football, you are going to be hearing a lot more about this exciting talent in the near future.

The deal was a complicated one to start off with, and the player remained in Brazil until July 2019, when he was 18 and free to move onto another club. At the time of buying the youngster, Vinicius Junior had played just one competitive game for Flamengo, which adds another element and makes the signing more impressive.

The Brazilian transfer record is currently set by Neymar, when he signed for Barcelona in 2013 and that remains intact, as Vinicius Junior became the second most expensive player to be signed from the Brazilian league. Many watchers of the Brazilian game have already compared Vinicius Junior to Neymar in terms of ability and they type of player he is, which if true would make the £39.6 million that Real Madrid paid for him look an absolute bargain.

In what has been a strange season for Real, the emergence recently of Vinicius Junior has been one positive. In a recent Copa del Rey game against rivals Barcelona, the youngster did not look fazed by the fact he was playing inside a big rivalry, and actually led the way for Madrid and drove them forward.

After their poor start, a league title looks a long way off right now, although the latest La Liga betting odds have them at 11/2, so it is not a foregone conclusion and they could come back to trouble Barcelona. For now though, unless something happens with the league leaders, attention will be focused on the future, and Vinicius Junior is a huge part of that.

After selling Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, many people expected Gareth Bale to step forward and take over the role as being the main man at Real. However, we have not yet seen that from Bale, and instead fans are now beginning to pin their hopes on the young rising star that is Vinicius Junior. Those at Fifa headquarters think he will be a future star based on what they have done in the game, and from what we have seen on the pitch, it looks likely that they will be right.

The player was actually signed by Real Madrid as a 16 year old, and the story of how they got him is one that gives the Real Madrid scouting team a lot of praise. They beat off competition from both Barcelona and Manchester United to win his signature, eventually agreeing a deal for him reported to be worth £39.6 million. Three of Europe's best young prospects have been given a glimpse of the future on FIFA 19. Matthijs de Ligt, Vinicius Junior and Phil Foden have been given boosts on the game thanks to FUT Future Stars.

Will they, won't they? The best game to play is trying to work out which of 'the next big things' are set for glory and which of them will end up being the next Freddy Adu.

One way we know who the youth players that are expected to make an impact are is by playing games such as FIFA or Football Manager, heck we wouldn't even have heard of Adu if it wasn't for Championship Manager 03/04.

The fact you can play several seasons quicker than an actual season means it's very easy to see how their careers should pan out, not that they always do of course.

Three players that really are the future if predictions are anything to go by are Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt, Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and Manchester City's Phil Foden.

De Ligt and Vinicius Junior could soon come up against each other in the Champions League when Ajax and Real Madrid face in the last 16.

The Ajax defender has been linked with a number of high profile teams including PSG and Barcelona but the 19 year old is likely to stay till the end of the season.

Goal caught up with Hashtag United's Alex 'Shawrey' Shaw after he competed in the February FUT Champions Cup in Atlanta to find out more about the amazing UItimate Team squad he uses in FIFA 19.

Shawrey's 20 million coin squad consists of: Champions League Thibaut Courtois, inform Joao Cancelo, baby Icon Rio Ferdinand, Team of the Year (TOTY) Raphael Varane, TOTY Marcelo, baby Icon Patrick Vieira, TOTY Modric, inform Neymar, TOTY Kylian Mbappe, TOTY Lionel Messi and regular Cristiano Ronaldo. A team so good, he didn't have to make many changes once he loaded up the unlocked account at the esports tournament.

Who was the first player you put in your team and decided to build around?

Cristiano Ronaldo, he's been in my team since the start of FIFA 19. Ronaldo every year in FIFA is the best player because of his physicality, his height, and his shooting is just ridiculous.

Is CR7 the MVP of your squad then or is it someone else? There has been a lot of talk of TOTY Mbappe recently.

TOTY Mbappe is the best player in the game by an absolute mile but Ronaldo is important for the headers because headers are really important in the game now. In the end, though, Mbappe is the most fun player I've ever used and definitely the best on the game, he's just amazing.

Despite his crazy stats, TOTY Modric doesn't appear in too many squads - perhaps because of his price. What is he like in-game?

I wasn't going to use him but then I bought him at home just before I went to the event and I absolutely loved him. Even though the event didn't go that well for me, Modric is still one of the best centre-mids I've used in FIFA. He's the most broken card in FIFA 19, so if you can afford him just buy him. I think he's the first ever player in FIFA to have 90 or above in every stat on the card face, so you'd hope he's unbelievable and he is. There is nothing bad about him, the only thing you could take away is his height but he can defend, attack, he can do everything - you could genuinely play him anywhere on the pitch.

Are there any players in FIFA 19 that you've used but have been disappointed with? Who wasn't as good as you hoped?

I used Future Star Vinicius Junior, 92-rated, and on the card-face he looks amazing but in-game he played awfully for me. It said he has 95 dribbling but no-chance did it feel like that. He's slow and clunky on the ball and felt so bad compared to Neymar who is actually cheaper! I sold Vinicius Junior and bought Neymar back straight away.

And when you went to the FUT Champions Cup in Atlanta, did you change a lot of your team?

Not too much, just sort of upgraded my Icons to the Primes and obviously I changed Ronaldo and Neymar for their TOTY versions. Then I used TOTY Ramos at right-back and brought in Prime Icon Paolo Maldini as another centre-back - I'd say he and TOTY Varane are the best in that position. In the warm-ups it went really well but it just didn't quite work out once we started. I finished top eight in Bucharest back in January which was a really good experience and better than I expected. So, when I went to Atlanta, I went in with high expectations, so getting grouped was pretty gutting. But coming to the United States was amazing and it was class that F2Tekkz won as we're good mates with him.

How would you describe your own play-style and what sort of advice would you give to our readers who want to play like you?

I love skill moves, getting down the wings and trying to create a chance from there. I'm quite an aggressive defender which worked really well in Bucharest because I had some of the least goals conceded at a tournament ever. And sometimes in a competitive game, I quite like to slowly build up and set the tone for the match. If you want to get better at using skill-moves, you can't just spam them at random times. You have to work out what works in different situations, that's how you become good at FIFA. With skills, especially, having the reactions to know what skill move to pull out in different situations is really important. Learn how and when to execute them and you'll be good to go.

Final question, and another tip for our readers, who is a cheap card you've used or heard of that you would recommend?

Defensively, players like Geoffrey Kondogbia and Fabinho are both really good and overpowered. And, for forwards, Memphis Depay has a really good basic card and there are a lot of options in the Premier League like Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane who aren't that expensive now. Any players with good pace, dribbling and solid shooting are fairly cheap and fit into the meta of the game.

77 - Vinícius Júnior

It’s two days before a full reveal for the FIFA 19 Future Stars players, but several players surfaced early. As a teaser, the EA Sports folks revealed the names of three stars and their ratings. They include at least one player who could be one of the best in the game at his position years from now. Here are the latest details on who is on the team and who may be coming with Friday’s lineup reveal.

There are several requirements in order to be part of the FIFA 19 Future Stars lineup. As EA mentioned, these players are all age 23 or younger. They also can’t be established stars (yet) and have the potential for future ratings in the football world.

With that in mind, the three players revealed on Wednesday included a pair of 92s with Matthijs de Ligt of AFC Ajax and Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid. Joining them is Manchester City’s Phil Foden who carries an 88 rating. Not too bad for the first three players revealed!

Matthijs De Ligt is an obvious choice here based on his immense future potential. He was a member of FIFA Team of the Week 4, and he’s likely to find his way on TOTW in the future.

His Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman recently said of De Ligt, “he will be the best centre-back in the world in two years,” per Goal’s report. De Light is a player likely to leave Ajax for one of the Premier League clubs such as Bayern, Barcelona, and Manchester City.

Vinicius Junior is another good choice so far. The 18-year-old achieved two goals and four assists for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey. In La Liga play he has one goal through eight matches.

Foden has recorded two goals and an assist in four matches for the Football League. With Manchester City, he has an assist so far in 13 appearances but has plenty of future potential.

So far it’s a nice trio of stars. There will be more FIFA 19 Future Stars on Friday, January 18. In all, this lineup will feature 11 to 13 players. Some other possible players guesses online include Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, and AFC Ajax’s Frankie de Jong.

It’s unknown right know what sort of cost the three players will have or what may be required for upgrades. More details will emerge as the official lineup becomes available.

That said, it’s a great start, and these are players who could find themselves on a future FIFA Team of the Year for the game.
