FIFA 19 Futmas Update 2 -

EA Sports has officially announced their new FIFA 19 Futmas event during the games Gfinity FUT Champions Cup.

The Futmas festivities begin today and will last until 31st December 2018.

Here's a quick overview of the big headline features:

- Daily Player SBC's

- Prime Icon SBC's

- Futmas themed SBC's

- Themed daily and weekly objectives

- New kits in packs

- New Players

- New Challenges

- New Futmas Kits

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

FIFA 19 Futmas Update 1 -

We're potentially under 40 minutes away from the launch of FIFA 19's new Futmas event.

EA Sports have remained pretty tight-lipped and it's still not clear if they're going live with the Futmas event today or tomorrow.

A Saturday start time doesn't happen all that often with FIFA events, however, it has happened with the Futmas event in years gone past.

There have also been no leaks to indicate who could be revealed as part of the festive event.

However, given that FIFA dataminers have found the shield that will be used, we know the event is coming at some point.

Stay tuned for updates, we should know more very soon.

Original Story - FIFA 19 players are getting ready for their annual Christmas celebration as EA Sports looks to release the games ever popular Futmas event.

For anyone who can't remember, the Futmas event is a series of SBCs throughout the winter period which focus on counting down player shirt numbers from 30 to 1, all the way up to December 24.

So for instance, last year, shirt numbers 30, 29, and 28 were SBC's for West Ham's Michail Antonio, 1899 Hoffenheim's Serge Gnabry, and Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta, who all wore the shirts, 30, 29 and 28.

As per usual these Futmas cards will also have a slight boost in stats, as per every other big FIFA Ultimate Team event.

At the time of writing, there are no new Futmas leaks (other than these on Reddit) but we have got plenty more info and predictions.

We could also see the release of some discount promo packs, which are great for anyone with money to burn on new FUT cards.

Equally, we'll more than likely see a new Winter themed kit released as well. Last year, the kit took the form of a Christmas Elf get up.

Just above and below you'll find a prediction of who we could see in this years 2018 Futmas Team from two FIFA 19 fans, but until EA Sports show their hand, it's hard to say anything is definitive.

However, keep reading for more info, including when FIFA 19 Futmas starts and how you can get your hands on the special Futmas cards in FIFA 19.

In previous years of FIFA Ultimate Team, FUTMAS has typically run from December 16-25.

The FIFA 17 Futmas event started on Friday 16 Dec 2016 at 10am PDT (6PM BST). Likewise, the FIFA 18 Futmas event started Saturday 16 Dec 2017 also at 10am PDT (6PM BST).

So, we're pretty confident that the FIFA 19 Futmas event will begin either slightly earlier, today, Friday 14th Dec, or potentially tomorrow, Saturday 15th Dec.

Either way, we expect that it will start at the exact same time of 10am PDT (6PM BST).

Equally, we're expecting that we could hear something from EA Sports either TODAY or tomorrow afternoon.

Though we certainly would expect to see some sort of announcement before the Player Cards become available.

The release of the games Ultimate Scream event follows on from the yesterday's FIFA 19 TOTW 13 reveal which is now live in the game on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The starting XI this week features Liverpool star Mo Salah, Manchester United’s Juan Mata, and Chelsea midfield N’Golo Kante.

Keep reading to discover the full squad and take a look at their upgraded stats:

FIFA 19 game update 1.05 is available now for PC users and scheduled to arrive next week for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The patch features improvements to gameplay, specifically AI teammates defending, AI teammate defender shot blocking, AI teammate tackling and defensive pressure.

UPDATE: (11-28) The patch is available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

It also includes some changes in FUT and 18 new player heads. There are also a number of legacy starheads returning in FIFA 19. These starheads have existed in previous titles and are now being added to FIFA 19 after player transfers.

Check out the patch notes below, along with more details on the official page.

Made the following changes:

We have made some changes to reduce the effectiveness of defending by AI Teammates.
In order to make the shot blocking of a defender that is being controlled by an AI Teammate less effective, we have reduced the distance that an AI Teammate defender will stretch to block a shot. In order to make the tackling of a defender that is being controlled by an AI Teammate less effective, we have reduced the distance that an AI Teammate defender will stretch when making a tackle.
Here is what we mean by an “AI Teammate”.
An AI Teammate is any player on the pitch that is not being controlled by a human, or is not the CPU AI Controlled Player. AI Teammates exist in the following circumstances:
On a team with no human players.
For example, the CPU-controlled team in Squad Battles.

On a team with a human controlled player(s) that are not locked to specific players.
For example, both teams in FUT Division Rivals.

On a team with a human player(s) that are locked to specific players, that also has CPU teammates.
For example, a Pro Clubs team with less than 11 human players.

AI Teammates do not exist in the following circumstances:
On a team with human players who are all locked to specific players.
For example, a Pro Clubs team, with 11 human players.

Increased the impact to fatigue of playing with defensive pressure.
This change will have the biggest impact to fatigue when playing with Constant Pressure enabled in your active Game Plan or when playing with Team Press active. This change will have reduced impact to fatigue when playing with Pressure On Heavy Touch or Pressure After Possession Loss enabled in your active Game Plan.

To make a well-timed tackle more effective, we have increased the tendency of the ball to travel further from the dribbler after the tackle, increasing the likelihood that the dribbler will lose possession of the ball. Reduced the number of first time passes that CPU AI Controlled players will make out of their defensive third of the pitch when playing on Legendary or Ultimate difficulty.
A refresher on what we mean by “CPU AI Controlled players”.
The CPU plays the game as you would, limited by the same input restrictions that a human player is. This means that the CPU team has an active player, just like you do, which we call the CPU AI-controlled player. A CPU AI-controlled player exists in the following circumstances:
On a team with no human players.
For example, the CPU-controlled team in Squad Battles.

On a team with human players who are all locked to specific players, that also has CPU teammates.
For example, a Pro Clubs team, with less than 11 human players, with no “ANY” player.

A CPU AI-controlled player does not exist in the following circumstances:
On a team with human players who are not locked to specific players.
For example, a team in FUT Champions.

Addressed the following issues:

Sometimes when an attacking player is trying to move towards a loose ball close to the goal, they would slow down and be unable to get to the ball effectively. If the keeper knocked the ball out of play during a penalty shootout, sometimes it would result in a throw-in being taken.

Made the following changes:

We have continued to make changes to the Division Rivals pre-match flow in an effort to reduce the difficulty of some players finding a match.
The ‘List Members’ button is no longer shown during the pre-match flow.

Voice chat has been disabled in Division Rivals.

Addressed the following issues:

Stability issue in FUT Champions Channel after watching a replay.
As a result of this fix, the following issues that were resolved in a previous title update may occur again, and we are working to resolve them in a future title update when available.
Sometimes, player models were appearing in the background after exiting a match. Sometimes, a white box would appear in the background after exiting a match.

Entering and leaving FUT Champions Channel multiple times would result in no replays being available for viewing. The FUT Champions Points redemption window was incorrectly defaulting to ‘Redeem Entry Now’ and is now defaulting to ‘Later’. Items on your Transfer Target list were displaying the Bought For price from the previous Item’s owner.

Addressed the following issues:

Sometimes receiving an error message about online stats reporting failing after completion of a Pro Clubs League or Drop-In Match.

Addressed the following issues:

Player’s sometimes getting an ‘Unable To Retrieve Your Kick Off Name’s Data’ error message when trying to play a Kick Off match.

Made the following changes:

    Starheads:
Added the assets for 18 new player starheads.

Enabled legacy assets for 24 player starheads.
Server side changes are required before these starheads will be available for use in game, please follow @EASPORTSFIFA on Twitter for updates on when these are available. The full list of additions can be found in the Pitch Notes article about this patch, you can find that here.

Updated the 2D portraits for 2440 players. Updates to a number of team kits, crests and banners.

Addressed the following issues:

The UEFA Champions League Honor Badge was showing after winning the tournament 4 times instead of 5. Corrected the home and away kit assignments for Wolfsberger AC. Sometimes the crowd would be seen waving a large linesman’s flag instead of a team flag.
