Whether you’re a youth academy veteran or are yet to send your scout on his first mission, my guides will help you discover the next generation of superstars in FIFA 18.
This guide will show you where to send your scouts in order to find the best players. If you want to know how to hire a good scout, what type of players you should be looking for and the best ways to develop your players, you’ll want to check out my FIFA 18 scouting guide hub page. I’ll be adding more guides over the next couple of weeks, so make sure to keep checking back.
Last time we looked at how to pick a good scout in FIFA 18, and why it’s so important to bringing in top-quality players (make sure you read that guide before reading this one). Today, we’ll move on to the next step – deciding where to send your scout.
Are there some regions that consistently produce fantastic players? Are there any hidden goldmines that you’d never think to explore? And do certain regions ‘specialise’ in different types of player? I’ll be examining all of these questions in this guide.
Let’s get started and work out where the best places are to send our scouts in FIFA 18.
In FIFA 18 there are nine different regions to scout. However, the game code actually has 12 different regions. Some regions that you’ll see in the game are divided into two in the game code. For example, South America is one region in the game; in the code Argentina and Brazil count as a separate region to the rest of South America.
It’s important that we use the regions as defined by the code as opposed to those you’ll see in the game, as there are some distinctions in how productive each region is.
Here are the regions the game code defines:
- Argentina & Brazil Rest of South America North America Northern Europe Italy, Spain & Portugal Rest of Southern Europe Central Europe Rest of Europe Japan & China Rest of Asia Australia Africa
Each region is then given a percentage chance of finding platinum players. Platinum players have potential between 75 and 95, so obviously we want the best chance possible of scouting these amazing players.
Here’s the percentage chance each of the 12 above regions has of finding platinum players:
- Argentina & Brazil: 15% Rest of South America: 5% North America: 2% Northern Europe: 6% Italy, Spain & Portugal: 14% Rest of Southern Europe: 8% Central Europe: 13% Rest of Europe: 7% Japan & China: 3% Rest of Asia: 1% Australia: 1% Africa: 6%
Just from looking at this, we can tell that three regions stand head and shoulders above the others: Argentina & Brazil; Italy, Spain & Portugal; and Central Europe. So it makes sense that we should always send our scouts to those regions, right?
Unfortunately, it’s not quite that simple.
Before we get started, it’s good to know what positions you’re likely to find when you search for a particular player type. Below I’ve made a quick table to outline this. You may occasionally get some deviations from the results below, but this is generally what you should expect:

In addition to this base chance of finding platinum players, each region is rated for its chances to find each player type.
What I mean by that is that you can tell you scout to look for a particular type of player, as well as looking in a certain region. You can tell him to look for one of the following types: technically gifted, winger, physically strong, playmaker, goalkeeper, attacker, defensive minded. You can also tell him you’re not bothered what type of player he finds, in which case you select ‘Any’ in the player type section.
Now, as I said earlier, each region has a rating for its chances of finding each type of player. Here’s how that breaks down:

A couple of points to note:
- Every region has the same chance of producing goalkeepers Somewhat controversially, Africa has a 0% chance of finding playmakers (even worse, they’re called ‘mentally strong’ in the game code. Take from that what you will)
So what do these percentages mean? Should we always send our scouts to Asia if we want to find the best wingers, for example?
These percentage ratings only refer to a region’s chances of producing each type of player, not their chances of producing a Good player.
Let’s return to the example of finding wingers in Asia. Yes, Asia has a 40% chance of finding wingers. What that means in practice is that if you send a scout to an Asian nation and told him to look for ‘Any’ type of player, 40% of those players will probably be wingers (obviously with some room for randomness). What it doesn’t mean is that those wingers will actually be any good.
So how do we work out where we should go to find a certain type that is actually good, AKA a platinum player? That’s what I’ll look at now.
The way we work this out is by combining our knowledge of which regions are most likely to produce platinum players with the table above (thanks to n23 on Reddit for the tip). We end up with something like this:

These percentages look pretty low, but you should use them more as a way of ranking the regions relative to each other, rather than an exact figure. There are other modifiers that come into play – the quality of your scout, how many players you get on each report, and of course an element of randomness.
Still, it’s a useful visualisation and the best way to work out where to send your scout if you’re looking for a certain type.
For example, if you want to find a good winger, go to the ‘Platinum winger’ column in the table and go downwards until you find the highest value. In this case you don’t have to go far – scouting in Argentina or Brazil will give you the best chance.
Yes. The rating of a scout, especially his judgment rating, has a huge impact on whether he’ll find platinum players. As I explained in my last guide, a scout with five stars for judgement is ten times more likely to find platinum players than a scout with one star for judgment is.
So take the table above as more of a guide than a rigid system. Sure, you should go to Argentina or Brazil if you want to find a platinum attacker, but if you have a bad scout then he may still fail to find anyone.
The best thing to do is to use the table above in conjunction with the best scout you can afford. That gives you the best chance possible of finding high-quality players.
Thanks again for the great content. Every year, I hope they reclassify/rename the player types for scouting (as well as some of the traits for the Global Transfer Network). Should be more straight forward for players. Also would be more accurate, as any position can have “technical” and/or “strong” players.

Ultimate Team has sort of taken the spotlight away from Career Mode in recent years, but there's still a great time to be had with the OG offering. FIFA 19 Career Mode hasn't changed much since last year, but you'll still need to know what you're doing if you want to see your team thrive. In this FIFA 19 Career Mode Guide, we'll detail everything from Player Scouting to Transfer Negotiation Tips. We'll also detail the changes that have been made since last year, and offer some advice on making the most of your time as Manager.

Career Mode is the classic single-player mode in FIFA 19. It involves taking on the role of Manager at a club of your choice. From there you’re free to manage the team as you wish, buying new players, retiring others, and working towards personal goals. Each team will ask that you satisfy a set of Manager Expectations. These vary from team to team but can range from big cup victories to division promotion. There’s a fair bit to take in, so we’ve pulled together all of the key info below.
Upon starting Career Mode in FIFA 19, you’ll want to get acquainted with all of the options available to you. Not only that, but there are some key bits of info that you’ll need to keep in mind while playing through a season, so it’s good to get it all down as early as you can. We’ve included some FIFA 19 Career Mode Tips below:
- Make use of your first transfer window - When starting the season, you’ll be right in the m >
Once you’ve gotten settled into your new role as Manager for your chosen team, you’ll want to start making some changes. You can do this by buying new players on the transfer market, though you’ll need to go through contract negotiations first. Transfer Negotiations can be tricky to navigate if you don’t know what you’re doing, so we’ve pulled together some useful tips in the list below. Here are our essential FIFA 19 Career Mode Transfer Negotiation Tips:
- If you’re looking to sign a player that you know you probably won’t end up selling, then add on sell-on fees. This will make the deal more attractive to the seller, though really it doesn’t make a difference if you don’t plan on selling. Transfer Negotiations can breakdown mid-meeting if you’re not careful. Listen out for the seller saying things like “we won’t accept any more than..”, if you undercut them at this point, they might just walk away. You can always make a follow-up offer, so don’t scare sellers off straight away with low offers. Scout as much as you can, this will give you an accurate estimation of what the seller is willing to accept as an offer. Pay the release clause to bypass stubborn sellers. It will often be a little higher than what you might pay, but it can be worth it to negotiate with the player directly Consider swapping a player that you’re not using to lessen the cost of signing a new one Be careful when offering squad roles. If you promise a vital role to a young player that you intend to bench, they’ll quickly become annoyed and call you up on it. Go high on player salary to avoid signing fees.

From here you can either hire new scouts or use existing ones to look for players to sign. The scout will initially give you a selection of players for you to look through, after which you can choose to scout specific ones further. There are two factors to consider when choosing a scout to do your bidding, factors which we’ve detailed below:

It’s always good to scout as many players as possible. This way you’ll have more options, and key info which can inform your transfer Negotiations.
If you’re really looking to play Career Mode for the long haul, you’ll want to start building a Youth Team to take over once some of your older players start retiring. To start setting up a Youth Squad, head to the Office Tab, and then select Youth Staff. You’ll need to hire a scout to search a specific region for players. Once you sign a player, you’ll set up Youth Academy, essentially a hub for managing all of your young players. With your Youth Academy set up and ready to go, here’s some tips on getting the most out of your Youth Squad:
- Pay attention to each player’s type. This is more indicative of their true position than the one listed by the scout. Don’t just rely on overall rating when deciding to call up a player. Check each one’s individual stats and see if they can be valuable in your squad You can’t see a player’s date of birth, so check back in regularly to see if they’ve turned 16 and are eligible to be called up to your squad. You can train Youth Players in the same way as other players. Go to the training menu and you can scroll through to your Youth Squad The player potential will start off as a broad range, but will narrow over time Don’t be afraid to leave players in the academy a little longer, it’ll benefit them in the long run.
While FIFA 19 does add a fair bit of new content when compared to its predecessor, career mode has definitely received the short straw. The big change is the addition of the UEFA Champions League, which operates as another tournament that you can play through. Elsewhere, there's a brand new difficulty setting in the form of Ultimate, previously reserved for FIFA Ultimate Team. There's updates to visuals, all new dynamic tactics and tweaks to breaking news and presentation. You can now use a fourth substitute in extra time, mirroring recent rule changes. Other than that, it's largely more of the same, with minor updates to training drills and transfer negotiations.

One thing’s for sure in FIFA 19: if you want to build a team of world-beaters, you need to spend a lot of money. Or do you?
One of the best parts of FIFA 19 career mode is its scouting system, which lets you find and develop hugely promising youngsters who will carry your team into the future.
Of course, you can’t just snap your fingers and conjure up the next Ronaldo – you need to know where to send your scouts, and how to spot a future superstar from a future flop. And that’s what we’re here for – let’s get started.
First things first, any scout is capable of finding incredible players. That said, the worst scouts will take a lot longer to do that, and will fill many more reports with chaff than the best scouts. If you want to save yourself a lot of time and effort, don’t be tight-fisted – buy the best scouts you can afford.
There are two indicators of a scout’s ability: his experience rating and his judgment rating. EA has helpfully labelled these in FIFA 19 when you go to hire a scout:
• “Experience: A more experienced scout will find a larger number of players.”
• “Judgment: A scout with better judgment will find higher quality players.”
Regarding experience, what is meant by “a larger number of players”? Well, scouts with five stars in experience will bring back five to seven players on each report; one-star experience scouts will only give you one to two players each month. The more players you get on each report, the better the chances of a gem being nestled among them.
Experience does something else, though – it determines how likely the scout is to find the type of player you’re after. If you tell him to find attackers, for example, you don’t want him to come back with a bunch of defenders.
There’s a big difference here between the best and worst scouts. A scout with five stars in experience has an 80% chance of finding the right type of player. That drops to a puny 30% chance for a one-star scout, meaning more irrelevant players and fewer of the ones you actually want.
So what’s judgment? As the note above says, higher judgment equals higher quality scouted players. FIFA 19 divides players into four categories: platinum, gold, silver and bronze. The best scouts have a 10% chance of finding platinum players (those with potential between 75 and 95), while the worst scouts only have a 1% chance. All scouts will therefore struggle to find the guaranteed future stars (and rightly so), but there’s enough of a difference to make forking out for a top-rated scout worthwhile.
When it comes to scouting, not every country is equal – some have a better chance of producing the next generation of world-beaters than others. That means it’s important to know where to send your scouts so you don’t waste time looking in the wrong places.
It should come as no surprise to learn that the best two countries to send your scouts to are Brazil and Argentina. The birthplaces of Pelé and Maradona are almost guaranteed to churn out outstanding talents in FIFA 19.
Where are the next best places? Well, here are the top five regions to scout, in order:
• Brazil and Argentina
• Italy, Spain and Portugal
• Central Europe (including Germany, Holland and France)
• The rest of southern Europe (Croatia, Greece and Turkey)
• The ‘Rest of Europe’ region (such as Poland, Czech Republic, and Serbia)
It’s simple: get a good scout and send him to one of these regions for the best results.
One month after you sent him on his way, your scout will return with a list of players to choose from. But how do you know which of these are worth keeping and which should be discarded?
Above all, you should look at each player’s potential range. This is usually something along the lines of 60-80, or 72-94. The player’s actual potential lies somewhere within this range. If you want the absolute best scouted players, you’ll need to sign the ones whose potential range tops out at 94.
If you’re not sure what a good potential range looks like, try taking the middle value in the range as a guide. For example, a potential range of 75-91 has a middle value of 83, meaning his potential is around that. If the average rating of your starting lineup is 83 or below, this player is likely to become an excellent player for your team. Sign him up!
It’s also important to find players with good current ability (or ‘OVR’ in FIFA 19), as it means they’ll be able to reach their potential much more quickly. In this instance, the best players will have a range starting in the 50s and ending in the 70s, such as 54-72.
Once you’ve promoted a youth player, FIFA has its own way of indicating that he has a lot of potential. Go to the Squad Hub under the Squad tab and browse through your players. Keep an eye out for any of the following statuses:
• “Showing great potential” – indicates potential 80-85 • “An exciting prospect” – indicates potential 86-90 • “Has potential to be special” – indicates potential 91+
This is a great little reminder in case you forget which are your most gifted young players. It also applies to players on other teams, so look out for these statuses when you’re dipping into the transfer market.
Not every team can afford to go out and buy already-established players, but scouting can be a much more affordable way of boosting your squad for the future. Even if you’re rolling in cash, scouting is still a hugely satisfying process as you find and nurture talented players from prodigies to superstars. Whatever situation you find yourself in, make sure you don’t miss out!

How has this guy got so many subs? Cutzy, sparring dk and barfieboy are about 10 times more entertaining with far less subs.

If you haven't known already, there's a table for FIFA 19 that can do more that just the scouts. My favorite use for it is the scout any country one.
Tbh Sunderland would have been the best rtg because you get to build them up from living hell. It’s the most realistic as well because of the new ownership and manager and squad haul
If you really feel like losing your sanity taking this style of managing to the absolute max, check out doing this manager play mode in the Irish Airtricity League. The whole league is 1/2 to 1 1/2 stars, and mostly players in the 50s overall. You can get your team together quickly, but European football is an absolute GRIND.
I did this in the swiss league on fifa 16 with servette fc first few season it was just getting players to make the squad half as decent as basel after that every zeason it was my team or basel to win the league and european football was living hell especailly the champions league I couldn't make the round of 16 to save my life. still to this day thats the best career mode I've ever played

Not really, it did used to slow down growth of untrainable attributes like Strength/ Sprint Speed, but in FIFA19 these are now trainable.

I have another tip for you, the player value will be based on their current overall, if it is 1,000,000+ you dont even need to scout him further, just sign him because his ovr will be 60+ with high potential 85+

Norway is sick for scouting players, i have a 92 rated physically strong CDM, only 21 years old, Never trained him either. Insane!
Personally I would rather have a search system like PES 2019 and without all this bloody scouting crap and have a ready made youth team I can plunder. Just fill an age type and transfer status (I. e. free or other) and make my bids. Oh and when scouting in Asia, the youth team look awfully European.
Another good thing to do is Take control of a national team Scout players from that nation Sign them to your Youth Academy "National Squad Selection" and search for the players in your academy This way you can look at all their stats, work rates, skills, weak foot ability, traits etc without signing them to your first team squad and finding out they have low work rates and 1 star skill moves. Also this gives you the opportunity to just put a load of 15-16 year olds into the national team starting 11 as you don't really care about the teams results, so you could even play games to see how the players are

How do I ensure I sign players with great stamina or how do I train their stamina? Stamina and speed are the most critical things in players I sign or nurture. Any suggestion on this?
One of the running ones does it, cant remember but I think its a bronze level, easy to do. CAMs almost NEVER have decent stamina. Its the worst position at finding ones that have any. Other than that its a bit of a crap shoot

They're the easiet to train. Just train them and they will become 94+

I usually search brazil, Argentina, italy and spain and been getting 93+ players with good work rates like high medium or high high and good weak foot/skill moves. another tip for me train a player that you want him to become good in for example you have a player that has 94 potential and only has good technical traits train his physical to level him up 3x or 4x then loan him for a 2 year contract he will come back with amazing technical and physical stats this works for anything you really want. if you dont the player will only improve his base stats, to branch it out you need to train his other stats and level him up before he hits 81 or 82. and do not over train your youth players they will get injuriy prone and he will be a waste of time even if hes 94 already he wont perform like one in sim matches. stop training players when they hit 80s let them level up naturally send them on loans and watch them grow if they dont do good on loans then you over trained your player

Try Finland and Slovenia. Im going to put a lengthy post on here, but trust me. I have tried those bigger name countries but nowhere comes close to Finland and Slovenia. Its like EA secretly juiced them. My starters are loaded with 18-21 year old players ranging from 80-94 from those 2 countries.

Another few countries worth scouting are Japan and Korea I found two goal keepers from there both up to mid 70s in two seasons and growing well and I have some gems in midfield one is now 82 and has grown +15 in last season and doesn't seem to be slowing down at this rate could make 90+ within the next season

Fifa really needs to sort this youth academy shit out. it's horrible. there's 80 rated cbs that are faster than real life wingers. . . id also like to see an under 23 squad you can put them in n then get stats on their assists, goals, blah blah through out their season(s) there. unrealistic to expect to play them in the first squad 10 matches a season or whatever.

I think EA should add a separate youth academy training instead of having your actual team and your youth academy team train in one session because it unrealistic because youth in real life have their own training and I have real players with high potentials that need training. Go to Slovenia, you'll thank me. My starter is 21 and a 94, I have had to sell 2 others because they wanted crucial roles (and made bank), one starts for Man U and the other for Dortmund now. Both are around 90. (I manage Cote D'Ivoire so my back up is one I scouted there. Hes 18 or 19 and he's 84 RN - and happily signed as sporadic. ) ALWAYS actively train your keepers: you can get As easily on the hard 1vs1 one and kicking drill. They level up FAST

Sadly there is no stat, that can predict the Weak Foot / Skill Moves. They are randomly generated.

Scouting is easy as cake. The value number is a dead giveaway when scouting new young players. If they are 15-16 with over $250,000 value they are guaranteed to be at least 84 overall potential. If its over $500,000 then you my friend have found yourself a wonderkid 90+ potential. It becomes tricky if the player is already 17 when your scout first reports him to you and i havent done any significant testing yet so ill be back with that later but for now it seems that a prospect who is 17 or older’s value rating has no impact on their potential due to age where as 15-16 year olds are still raw and their initial value is key in scouting them properly before signing them.
When you reload your save player cant go from exiting prospect to has potential to be special?
When you reload, it changes the whole pool of players in that report, none of the players are the same. But you could end up getting better players when you reload. But for the player reload it is just to ensure they keep their higher range of potential, so technically yes, they could have 70-94 pot, you promote them and they are only exciting prospect. Then you reload and they could inherit the Higher potential of 94 and be potential to be special (90+ potential).
I scouted a French CB at 65 ovr, in one season he is now 78. Keep in mind he’s 6’6 fast as hell and strong as hell. Legend.

The one that show at the club since, don’t release them yet keep them in the youth academy cuz their stats will change, I would say only release players if youth academy is full and u need space to sign a better player or if he is threatening to leave and u don’t want him yet

I have a glitch, when i sign a player to my youth academy, and he is 15 years old, he’s age dosen’t grow through the seasons, and i can’t promote him to the senior squad, and often they have very good potential, there is a way to fix this?
There are more positions you can find in each player type. Added these would be helpful. IE, LB and RB attackers, probably the best type for wing backs in the game. Also technically gifted Strikers are worth a go 👍
7:10 and value can be important.
You should choose the players by looking at the value. Sign any player with value of 500k and above and completely remove the rest of the player below it. The reason for this is because, even if the current rating is 60 and above, a player with value below 500k have lesser stats for anything other than 6 stats that determined the rating of said player. Even if the potential value is lower than 80, a 500k value player can be use as a swap bargain to buy players or sell them for easy cash. From what I foresee when looking at youth players, a rating of 60 with a value below 500k for position other than CM and CDM, their stamina is too low to be used and it required a lot more training. Stamina as we all know is a bronze training hence it will take almost a full season just to get a player to 70 stamina if you actually take those player with low value. This also reflect to other position, hence, to make your choice and life easier, just recruit players with value above 500k.

Guys always remember to check the value, I’d say if you only want brilliant players look for above 300.000 pounds value.
For next year i hope ea changes the youth system and at least do a u18 team with actual lineups where u need a certain amount of mids def gk and st and at least let us do more with our academy (practice games, make a youth league etc)

The youth players actually need to DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Anything at all in the academy. I need a reason why the young promising 87-92 potential 15 year old left winger from Portugal that I can’t play yet is declining in potential. He’s not playing any game at all yet he keeps dropping in potential and he’s not yet old enough for me to call him up to the first team before his potential gets worse. This is a MUST FIX.
It's not that their potential is declining, you get given an estimate of their potential so it's in this range, say 72-94 then each academy report narrows that range down meaning you get a better estimate, eventually down to say 81-87 so their potential is not declining just the estimate getting more accurate
Physically Strong is wrong. I always used to look for strikers there but you don't get them anymore. You only get Center Forwards.

Some countries have a better ratio of returning Platinum Players (PTBS) than other countries.

Just look the value of the player. 400.000 value will be around 61 overall. In my opinian you should promote them as soon as possible, because they get massive increase in the first team or you can put them in loan list
As for me, i prefer just leave them in the youth academy, even if their stats does not increase much, their hidden stats or stat that cannot be train does increase more than stats that can be train. We all know that some mental stats like composure, aggression, reaction and some technical stats like jumping, balance and acceleration cannot be train. So, from a lot of testing that I done, its better to leave them in the academy and just promote them when they demand to leave your academy if you did not promote them.

No, they will still grow if you don’t train. Just that training doesn’t effect the untrainable attributes like composure.

Not really, it did used to slow down growth of untrainable attributes like Strength/ Sprint Speed, but in FIFA19 these are now trainable.

Personally I would rather have a search system like PES 2019 and without all this bloody scouting crap and have a ready made youth team I can plunder. Just fill an age type and transfer status (I. e. free or other) and make my bids. Oh and when scouting in Asia, the youth team look awfully European.

Another good thing to do is Take control of a national team Scout players from that nation Sign them to your Youth Academy "National Squad Selection" and search for the players in your academy This way you can look at all their stats, work rates, skills, weak foot ability, traits etc without signing them to your first team squad and finding out they have low work rates and 1 star skill moves. Also this gives you the opportunity to just put a load of 15-16 year olds into the national team starting 11 as you don't really care about the teams results, so you could even play games to see how the players are

One of the running ones does it, cant remember but I think its a bronze level, easy to do. CAMs almost NEVER have decent stamina. Its the worst position at finding ones that have any. Other than that its a bit of a crap shoot

They're the easiet to train. Just train them and they will become 94+

I usually search brazil, Argentina, italy and spain and been getting 93+ players with good work rates like high medium or high high and good weak foot/skill moves. another tip for me train a player that you want him to become good in for example you have a player that has 94 potential and only has good technical traits train his physical to level him up 3x or 4x then loan him for a 2 year contract he will come back with amazing technical and physical stats this works for anything you really want. if you dont the player will only improve his base stats, to branch it out you need to train his other stats and level him up before he hits 81 or 82. and do not over train your youth players they will get injuriy prone and he will be a waste of time even if hes 94 already he wont perform like one in sim matches. stop training players when they hit 80s let them level up naturally send them on loans and watch them grow if they dont do good on loans then you over trained your player

Try Finland and Slovenia. Im going to put a lengthy post on here, but trust me. I have tried those bigger name countries but nowhere comes close to Finland and Slovenia. Its like EA secretly juiced them. My starters are loaded with 18-21 year old players ranging from 80-94 from those 2 countries.

Another few countries worth scouting are Japan and Korea I found two goal keepers from there both up to mid 70s in two seasons and growing well and I have some gems in midfield one is now 82 and has grown +15 in last season and doesn't seem to be slowing down at this rate could make 90+ within the next season

Fifa really needs to sort this youth academy shit out. it's horrible. there's 80 rated cbs that are faster than real life wingers. . . id also like to see an under 23 squad you can put them in n then get stats on their assists, goals, blah blah through out their season(s) there. unrealistic to expect to play them in the first squad 10 matches a season or whatever.

I think EA should add a separate youth academy training instead of having your actual team and your youth academy team train in one session because it unrealistic because youth in real life have their own training and I have real players with high potentials that need training. Or maybe even just add more than five slots Also just subbed

Go to Slovenia, you'll thank me. My starter is 21 and a 94, I have had to sell 2 others because they wanted crucial roles (and made bank), one starts for Man U and the other for Dortmund now. Both are around 90. (I manage Cote D'Ivoire so my back up is one I scouted there. Hes 18 or 19 and he's 84 RN - and happily signed as sporadic. ) ALWAYS actively train your keepers: you can get As easily on the hard 1vs1 one and kicking drill. They level up FAST

Sadly there is no stat, that can predict the Weak Foot / Skill Moves. They are randomly generated.

Scouting is easy as cake. The value number is a dead giveaway when scouting new young players. If they are 15-16 with over $250,000 value they are guaranteed to be at least 84 overall potential. If its over $500,000 then you my friend have found yourself a wonderkid 90+ potential. It becomes tricky if the player is already 17 when your scout first reports him to you and i havent done any significant testing yet so ill be back with that later but for now it seems that a prospect who is 17 or older’s value rating has no impact on their potential due to age where as 15-16 year olds are still raw and their initial value is key in scouting them properly before signing them.
When you reload your save player cant go from exiting prospect to has potential to be special?
When you reload, it changes the whole pool of players in that report, none of the players are the same. But you could end up getting better players when you reload. But for the player reload it is just to ensure they keep their higher range of potential, so technically yes, they could have 70-94 pot, you promote them and they are only exciting prospect. Then you reload and they could inherit the Higher potential of 94 and be potential to be special (90+ potential).
I scouted a French CB at 65 ovr, in one season he is now 78. Keep in mind he’s 6’6 fast as hell and strong as hell. Legend.

First tip, avoid playing the game altogether. It deserves no support, and we should all get off our asses and go play football in real life
The one that show at the club since, don’t release them yet keep them in the youth academy cuz their stats will change, I would say only release players if youth academy is full and u need space to sign a better player or if he is threatening to leave and u don’t want him yet

There are more positions you can find in each player type. Added these would be helpful. IE, LB and RB attackers, probably the best type for wing backs in the game. Also technically gifted Strikers are worth a go 👍

You should choose the players by looking at the value. Sign any player with value of 500k and above and completely remove the rest of the player below it. The reason for this is because, even if the current rating is 60 and above, a player with value below 500k have lesser stats for anything other than 6 stats that determined the rating of said player. Even if the potential value is lower than 80, a 500k value player can be use as a swap bargain to buy players or sell them for easy cash. From what I foresee when looking at youth players, a rating of 60 with a value below 500k for position other than CM and CDM, their stamina is too low to be used and it required a lot more training. Stamina as we all know is a bronze training hence it will take almost a full season just to get a player to 70 stamina if you actually take those player with low value. This also reflect to other position, hence, to make your choice and life easier, just recruit players with value above 500k.

Guys always remember to check the value, I’d say if you only want brilliant players look for above 300.000 pounds value.
For next year i hope ea changes the youth system and at least do a u18 team with actual lineups where u need a certain amount of mids def gk and st and at least let us do more with our academy (practice games, make a youth league etc)

I agree, I tend to just let it have it's course, I get enough good players. This must just be for people that want amazing players quickly, no challenge in their career.

The youth players actually need to DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Anything at all in the academy. I need a reason why the young promising 87-92 potential 15 year old left winger from Portugal that I can’t play yet is declining in potential. He’s not playing any game at all yet he keeps dropping in potential and he’s not yet old enough for me to call him up to the first team before his potential gets worse. This is a MUST FIX.
It's not that their potential is declining, you get given an estimate of their potential so it's in this range, say 72-94 then each academy report narrows that range down meaning you get a better estimate, eventually down to say 81-87 so their potential is not declining just the estimate getting more accurate
Physically Strong is wrong. I always used to look for strikers there but you don't get them anymore. You only get Center Forwards.

Atack, defence ratio and traits dont get better and you cant improve them, unless u use cheat engine on pc

Just look the value of the player. 400.000 value will be around 61 overall. In my opinian you should promote them as soon as possible, because they get massive increase in the first team or you can put them in loan list

As for me, i prefer just leave them in the youth academy, even if their stats does not increase much, their hidden stats or stat that cannot be train does increase more than stats that can be train. We all know that some mental stats like composure, aggression, reaction and some technical stats like jumping, balance and acceleration cannot be train. So, from a lot of testing that I done, its better to leave them in the academy and just promote them when they demand to leave your academy if you did not promote them.

Also, you should look at value, it’s important so you can estimate his potential.
FIFA CareerGems no but i think players above 100 000€ have better chance of higher potential than around 70 000€. This isn’t always true but most of the times it is.

FIFA CareerGems yeah, but in the later stages (in the youth academy). When you just scouted those players I think the value is essential.

My roommate thought I was cheating bc my team is all 80 and higher (couldnt find a godo CAM w stamina so I bought Bruno Fernandes and hes 28 now) and all 21 and younger. Its bc I train every session. (see my lengthy post I am going to add. would love your feedback.)

Where’s my penis? his potential is dropping because that’s not his confirmed potential. 87-93 means his cap potential can be anywhere in between. It dropping means that his original potential was never 93.

I always sign 15 yrlds at a club like Arsenal because It's worth keeping them in but make sure their potential is 70-94 but you can loan glitch youth players when they hit 16 aswell.

Over training in FIFA18 used to slow natural growth of strength down. Strength can be trained in FIFA19, so that evens it out.

When you reload, it changes the whole pool of players in that report, none of the players are the same. But you could end up getting better players when you reload. But for the player reload it is just to ensure they keep their higher range of potential, so technically yes, they could have 70-94 pot, you promote them and they are only exciting prospect. Then you reload and they could inherit the Higher potential of 94 and be potential to be special (90+ potential). the youth players actually need to DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Anything at all in the academy. I need a reason why the young promising 87-92 potential 15 year old left winger from Portugal that I can’t play yet is declining in potential. He’s not playing any game at all yet he keeps dropping in potential and he’s not yet old enough for me to call him up to the first team before his potential gets worse. This is a MUST FIX.
